A friend of mine shared a link about the National Museum of African American History and Culture Releasing a “Talking About Race” Web Portal. I have to be up front, as angered, hurt, saddened, and scared as I am... there are things about this time right now that are teaching me more about myself.
This is a time to reflect. YOU can take this time to reflect. What is your experience? What do you have to learn? What do you NEED to learn so you can DO and make meaningful change? I am going to be brave and use this portal as a resource as I begin to become more comfortable talking about the difficult things that really, truly matter. JOIN ME.

“Why do those who counter black lives matter act as though black people aren't aware of the glaring disproportionate statistics of police brutality, of health care racism, and of mass incarceration? This is our reality. You deciding to ignore it for your own comfort doesn't make it any less true.
If a patient being rushed to the ER after an accident were to point to their mangled leg and say, “This is what matters right now,” and the doctor saw the scrapes and bruises of other areas and countered, “but all of you matters,” wouldn’t there be a question as to why he doesn't show urgency in aiding that what is most at risk?” This concept may be obvious to some, but if it isn’t obvious to you, be brave enough to learn more. #blacklivesmatter
